Bringing vintage decor to modern audiences

Feb 26, 2015

This post was co-authored by Historic New England and iMarc. The wallpaper cataloguing and digitization project was made possible by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Modern search and digitization complement preservation, as Historic New England partners with iMarc to open its historic collections to the entire world.

Historic New England and iMarc have blurred the lines between old and new by making it easy to explore a vast collection of historic artifacts. Sites ranging from Huffington Post to Curbed have been curating their own collections and bringing them to new audiences.

The organization’s wallpaper collection has been a tool for researchers and scholars and inspiration for home-décor enthusiasts for decades.
