The award acknowledges our preservation and stewardship of Jackson House (1664), the oldest surviving wood-frame house in New Hampshire and a National Historic Landmark. The project included sensitive structural repairs to the frame, grading work to correct water infiltration, and significant archaeological analysis. The work was supported in part by a $90,000 grant from the New Hampshire Land and Community Heritage Investment Program (LCHIP)
Each year the Preservation Alliance recognizes outstanding preservation work through its Achievement Awards program. Selection criteria include the quality of work, the project’s innovativeness, the degree of challenge or accomplishment, and the level of community support.
